Announcing HUMAN Wallet: the gateway to the HUMAN experience

2 min read

HUMAN Wallet will act as the portal for users to manage their HUMAN experience. It is how they sign in, complete jobs, get paid, and gain reputation. The Wallet has been designed with a range of functionalities designed to make the experience as simple and useful as possible.

Cross-chain bridges

Cross-chain bridges allow users to trade cryptocurrencies between different blockchains, without the need for an intermediary crypto exchange. The predominant currency on the Protocol will be HMT; cross-chain bridges are planned to ensure workers can move their HMT between different chains without losing too much to gas fees.

Furthermore, the Protocol is designed to support other currencies, native to the chains where work is completed. Cross-chain bridges mean workers could, for example, swap SOL for HMT directly through their HUMAN Wallet.

Single sign-on

Multiple applications across multiple blockchains can make identity verification difficult. The Foundation wants to make it as easy as possible for users to sign up, start work, and get paid on any Exchange. An Exchange is any application running on the Protocol, such as the data labeling application CVAT.

Single sign-on means that a Worker wishing to label data on CVAT would not have to go through multiple layers of sign ups and sign ons. The wallet is designed so that if they see a job posted on an exchange, such as CVAT, they can click sign-in, and the HUMAN Wallet API appears in the browser. Once they sign in, all the details should be loaded onto the Exchange automatically.

This design also allows workers to receive payments in a matter of minutes, no matter which HUMAN supported currency they are paid in.

Multichain staking

The Foundation intends for the network to be secured by a network of Validators. The Validators are staking agents with a responsibility for content moderation and preparation relating to a job. For a full overview on the activities of the Validator, read our blog post.

The current plan is to allow regular holders of HMT to be able to join in that staking process by staking their HMT with Validators, based on a number of metrics planned to be accessible through HUMAN Wallet. The Wallet is designed as the locus, acting as a dashboard for all interactions in the HUMAN network.

Reputation management

As a Worker completes jobs, they receive a reputation score based on the accuracy of their work. Reputation is intended to be different for different job types; there is one for image annotation, one for text, one for video, and so on.

The Wallet is also intended to be the hub for any relevant certificates. If a Requester requires, for example, a Worker with medical expertise to label cancerous growths on images on skin, that certificate would be verified and represented in the Worker’s Wallet.

The vision

The Protocol is designed to be broadly applied to many kinds of work, to allow software to execute the details, and users to collaborate to get work done. HUMAN Wallet is the user-friendly gateway to the Protocol, and the interface for the distributed markets it supports. Using it, Requesters and Workers have access to a trustless system of exchange, which features the ability to use different currencies, on multiple chains, across the many applications the Protocol aims to support.

Through the Wallet, the Foundation hopes to bring ease and utility to the Protocol, and lay the groundwork for more users, chains, and applications to benefit from a new era of decentralized work.
