Announcing HUMAN's integration with Solana

2 min read

We are excited to announce the first integration of HUMAN Protocol on the Solana blockchain: HUMAN CVAT on Solana.

Solana offers exceptional transaction speeds of 50,000 transactions per second, at a relatively low cost. A technology with such power can help HUMAN Protocol become a data pipeline for the world, in which a global workforce of hundreds of millions of native users can work simultaneously on solving all kinds of tasks.

The API

Solana has developed a portal to HUMAN Protocol’s CVAT. Users will be able to see a list of CVAT jobs on Solana; they can then click the links in the interface, enter their Solana wallet address and begin solving jobs.

The work that does make it on-chain is batched into larger chunks of transactions to limit load on the blockchain. For more on how we batch transactions on-chain, read our article on making do with the blockchain

That is why we require multichain. This work with Solana is the first time we have migrated a HUMAN powered app to a mainchain outside of Ethereum. To become a truly multichain Protocol, we need to bring HUMAN Protocol powered applications onto different mainchains. Now, for the first time, we have done just that.

Intel CVAT

Intel CVAT is simply one of the first applications on the Protocol. It is a semi-automated data labeling tool that helps data labelers create more sophisticated and targeted datasets for ML practitioners. For more on CVAT, read the integration article on our blog

"Personally, I'm excited to collaborate with HUMAN Protocol because it is a way to connect Intel technologies with human intelligence at scale to solve hard computer vision problems."

-- Nikita Manovich, Deep Learning Manager and Architect of Computer Vision Annotation Tool (CVAT), Intel

Our work with Solana

In our multichain research, Solana has been the very first network to fulfil all the criteria required to meet our needs. Everstake, a development team working with Solana, have brought our hmt-escrow contracts over to Substrate and have followed our Swagger Spec exactly. They have implemented a HUMAN API for Solana; it is the first chain since Ethereum to have done all the necessary work for integration into the HUMAN system.

This development signals an exciting moment in our multichain journey. This is the very first demonstration that Solana can meet the demands of HUMAN Protocol, and scale appropriately to manage the transactions we anticipate. It is also the first demonstration of our commitment to multichain operability; only through multichain can we avoid bottlenecks, and thereby fulfil the full potential of a HUMAN world.
