Approval process of the HUMAN grants program explained

2 min read

A technology that can transform all kinds of work requires education, collaboration, and technical developments to facilitate new applications. The HUMAN grants program is designed to reward enterprises for the adoption of HUMAN Protocol tech.

The program is open to many kinds of applicants, which can be read about in this article. The process involves a number of sequential steps, combined with an assessment of five key criteria.

The steps

  1. Pre-submission

The HUMAN Protocol Foundation will host open briefings and general online Q&A sessions for interested applicants. The Foundation will update applicants on new functionalities, and more generally help to educate them about the Protocol.

  1. Application

All applicants will be required to complete the application form, which forms the basis of the proposal.

  1. First interview

The first interview will involve the applicant team. This is an early stage discussion designed to clarify questions from either side. We want to get to know the applicant, and to help them know how they can build with HUMAN. Applicants may be asked for further detail, if required.

  1. Second interview

The technical interview, involving at least one member of the HUMAN Engineering team. In this, we will discuss the integration, requirements, feasibility, and complexity.

  1. Grants committee

If applicants have reached this stage, a recommendation paper will be submitted to the grants committee to sign off on the funds. For more on how funds are apportioned, please see below. A vote will be held, and the applicant told of the result.

  1. Due diligence and contract

Legal due diligence, commercial due diligence, background checks, and finalizing contracts. When all is in place, we will be delighted to welcome you to the program!

The assessment criteria

Each one of the following categories carries a weighted score. The sum of these equals the overall project score, which will determine the band of reward you can expect for your project.

When a new project comes to HUMAN, there are many considerations: the applicant community, user base, brand, and reputation. A subjective assessment of the project.

An assessment of the background, capabilities, and experience of the applicant team.

Value proposition

The adoption of HUMAN can have many different faces. This is an assessment of the unique use case, and its broader implications for the future of work.

This score is based on an assessment of the proposal’s likelihood of successful integration.

An assessment of whether or not the predicted costs of implementation are justified.
