HUMAN community newsletter – #25

Hello HUMANs. May was a month of slow-but-steady progress, as we work towards our product relaunches and UI updates. We’re pleased to announce that the HUMAN App is once more available, with ongoing testing underway to ensure stability.

Highlights

  • Soft relaunch of HUMAN App (v1.0). 
  • HUMAN App (v2.0) has been demoed to a select community group. We’re now working on incorporating that feedback, in preparation for the release. 
  • Implementation of keyless oracles is undergoing testing. Read about it on the blog

Product and Development

  • HUMAN App (v1.0) soft launch has been completed and users are solving jobs successfully. This phase will have a limited HMT pool as we continue to test for network stability and performance. 
  • Continued experimentation with CVAT. We used a dataset of 10,000 main images and 200 ground-truth images (annotated by the CVAT team). Annotators from both HUMAN Protocol and CVAT communities achieved a quality estimation of 75.3% for the ‘skeletons’ job type. 
  • HUMAN App (v2.0) has been demoed. We’re continuing to incorporate the feedback from these sessions, to ensure the final result matches with community expectations, and addresses identified pain points. 

Community updates 

We held our monthly community call with HUMAN’s founder Alex Newman. The latest call took place on May 28th via X (formerly Twitter), where Alex discussed our upcoming features, addressed community questions, and shared insights about the project's future. For those who couldn't attend, you can listen to the recording on our X profile.

Our next community call will be on June 28th via X Space. Stay tuned to our social channels for details as the date approaches.

Community participation in these calls has been encouraging, and we’re pleased to see community growth across our channels. This is anticipated to continue with the relaunched HUMAN App, and the wider UI and performance improvements to come. 

Our unofficial Telegram channels continue to enjoy significant growth. HUMAN Bangladesh, for example, is rated 13th out of 370 groups in the country, with a daily average of 5,000 messages.
