The COVID-19 pandemic paved the way for remote recruitment through videoconferencing, but now, AI is revolutionizing the hiring process by eliminating the need for human recruiters as a whole.

Startups like Paradox and Mya are at the forefront of this change, specializing in the development of chatbots. These chatbots are designed to pre-screen job applicants for positions that attract a high volume of candidates. They do this by asking straightforward questions and automatically weeding out incorrect responders. Major companies like McDonald's, Wendy's, CVS Health, and Lowes are already using this technology. But here's the catch: some folks are finding themselves disqualified because they didn't answer in the "exact" manner the chatbot's language model expected.

This means that these chatbots might be ruling out individuals who are fully qualified, but don't communicate in flawless English or type quickly enough. In some cases, candidates are being dismissed based on criteria such as typing speed, leading to concerns and complaints.

Patient Privacy at Risk: The AMA's Stand Against AI in Diagnostics

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) has recently raised alarms about the use of AI in the medical field. What's the cause for concern? In May, five hospitals within Perth's South Metropolitan Health Service decided to use ChatGPT to document patients' medical records. This move not only violated medical confidentiality but also opened a Pandora's box of potential issues.

But that's not all. Some doctors have reportedly taken it a step further, using OpenAI's chatbot to make diagnoses and even decide on drug prescriptions and treatments. This risky practice has ignited a debate on the need for stricter regulations and oversight.
